an independent NGO promoting: social justice, gender equality and human rights through research, education, legislative changes, advocacy programs
The project was funded by USAID under the PROWID program through the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) and the Center for Development of Population Activities (CEDPA)
The project was implemented in 1998 and beginning 1999 by the Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation in cooperation with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights (MAHR) and the Bulgarian NGO Gender Project for Bulgaria Foundation (GPF).
This was the first project involving research in the field of violence against women.
As a result of the implementation of the project a publication on the legal aspects of domestic violence and on the gender education programme was produced in Bulgarian and in English by the BGRF.
The project contributed to a great extent to the future successful projects and programmes of the BGRF.
