Bulgaria found in violation of the CEDAW
In its 49th session, in July 2011, the CEDAW Committee adopted views in two communications - against Brazil and Bulgaria.
Communication No17/2008 concers maternal mortality and reproductive health. The case was filed by the Center for Reproductive Rights.
Communication No20/2008 concerns domestic violence. The case was filed by a lawyer working with the Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation - Plovdiv branch.
Both the cases address serious violations of women's human rights
